On 3 June 2010, the Commission gave notice under sections 102 and 103 of the National Electricity Law (NEL) of the making of the National Electricity Amendment (Minor Changes) Rule 2010 No. 6 and related final determination. The final Rule, with some minor amendments, is the same as the Proposed Rule.</p>
<p>
<strong>Background</strong></p>
<p>
On 22 April 2010, the AEMC gave notice under sections 95 and 96 of the National Electricity Law (NEL) of its intention to initiate:</p>
<ul>
<li>
the Proposed National Electricity Amendment (Minor Changes) Rule 2010 (the Proposed Rule) under the expedited rule change process; and</li>
<li>
public consultation on the Proposed Rule.</li>
</ul>
<p>
The Proposed Rule seeks to correct minor errors in the Rules and make non-material changes to the Rules.</p>
<p>
The Proposed Rule consists of the following categories of changes:</p>
<ul>
<li>
it correct several minor errors, including formatting and numbering anomolies in the Rules;</li>
<li>
it makes some non-material changes to the National Electricity Amendment (Bid and Offer Validation Data) Rule 2009 No.21, while ensuring the corrections commence operation when that Amending Rule commences operation;</li>
<li>
it removes jurisdictional derogations which have expired under the Rules;</li>
<li>
it inserts notes indicating which Rules are prescribed as civil penalty provisions and the rebidding civil penalty provision under the National Electricity (South Australia) Regulations; and</li>
<li>
it corrects errors and ensure consistency in approach throughout Chapter 10, by removing and inserting some Chapter 10 glossary definitions.</li>
</ul>
<p>
Any written objections to the expedited process were to be received by <strong>6 May 2010</strong>.</p>
<p>
The Commission invited parties to provide submissions on the Proposed Rule by <strong>20 May 2010</strong>.</p>
<p>
No objections or submissions were received on the Rule proposal.</p>
<p>
