On 21 January 2026 the AEMC received a rule change request from the Australian Energy Council (AEC) and Clean Energy Council (CEC) to amend the National Electricity Rules. The AEMC has not yet initiated this rule change request. When the AEMC initiates this process, the AEMC will publish a Consultation Paper to facilitate stakeholder consultation on the request.
