WA: Northern Goldfields Interconnect

The Northern Goldfields Interconnect (NGI) is a new buried pipeline, approximately 579 kilometres long, commencing at Ambania, approximately 50 kilometres east of Geraldton, connecting into the existing Goldfields Gas Pipeline (GGP), approximately 50 kilometres south of Leinster. The external diameter of the pipeline is approximately 300 mm and the maximum operating pressure is 15.3 MPa.

The NGI is owned and operated by APA Northern Goldfields Interconnect Pty Ltd (part of APA group).  

On 2 August 2023, the ERA granted a 5 year Category 3 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the NGI.

The Northern Goldfields Interconnect was commissioned on 1 July 2023.
