The Nifty Pipeline (also known as the Nifty Gas Lateral) is a transmission pipeline in central Western Australia. The Nifty pipeline was commissioned in 2004.
The pipeline is owned by Energy Infrastructure Investments (EII) Gas Transmission Services WA (Operations) Pty Ltd. The APA Group holds 19.9 per cent interest in Energy Infrastructure Investments, while Marubini holds 49.9 per cent interest and Osaka Gas holds 30.2 per cent interest.
The Nifty Pipeline is 45 km in length, has a nominal diameter of 150 mm and a capacity of 7.8TJ/day. The pipeline connects the Telfer Gas Pipeline to the Birla Nifty Copper Mine in the Great Sandy Desert and is used to supply natural gas to Metal X’s Nifty Copper Mine.
The Nifty Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR.
