WA: Mount Morgans Gas Pipeline

The Mount Morgans Gas Pipeline (MGN) is a lateral transmission pipeline located in south Western Australia. The lateral is owned and operated by the APA Group. 

The MGN pipeline is 5 km in length, has a nominal diameter of DN100 and a capacity of 2.2 TJ/day. It delivers gas from the Eastern Goldfields Pipeline to the Mt Morgan Gold Mine, approximately 20 kilometres west of Laverton. The MGN is part of the Eastern Goldfields Pipeline System (EGPS), which also includes the Eastern Goldfields Pipeline, Gwalia Lateral, Murrin Murrin Lateral and Yamarna Gas Pipeline. 

The MGN pipeline was built in 2017.

The MGN pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. On 8 May 2023, the ERAWA granted a 5 year Category 2 and 3 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the MGN pipeline.
