QLD: Roma North Gas Pipeline

The Roma North Gas Pipeline, previously known as the Roma North Gas Processing Facility pipeline, is a 5.2 km transmission pipeline with a nameplate capacity of 48 TJ/day and nominal diameter of 200 mm, connecting Senex’s Roma North fields to GLNG’s export pipeline. It was commissioned by Senex in March 2019 and acquired by Jemena (Jemena Roma North Pipeline Pty Ltd ABN 17 621 731 995) in September 2019. The pipeline is used exclusively for the transportation of Senex’s gas, which is natural gas.

The Roma North Gas Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Part 10 of the National Gas Rules (NGR). It was previously subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under the former Part 23 of the NGR, which was replaced by Part 10.

The AER has granted the following exemptions for the Roma North Gas Pipeline:

  • On 7 July 2020, a five year Category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR.
  • On 1 March 2024, a five year Category 2 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR.
