The National Electricity Rules govern the operation of the National Electricity Market. The Rules have the force of law, and are made under the National Electricity Law.
Copies of the National Electricity Rules are available for inspection at the AEMC's office in Sydney. The National Electricity Law can be found at the South Australian Legislation website.
The current consolidated version of the Rules is Version 110, incorporating:
• Schedules 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 of the National Electricity Amendment (Transmission Connection and Planning Arrangements) Rule 2017 No. 4
• Schedules 1 to 7 of the National Electricity Amendment (Managing the rate of change of power system frequency) Rule 2017 No. 9
• Schedules 4 to 9 of the National Electricity Amendment (Managing power system fault levels) Rule 2017 No. 10
• Schedules 1 to 4 of the National Electricity Amendment (Generating system model guidelines) Rule 2017 No. 11
• Schedule 2 of the National Electricity Amendment (Minor Changes) Rule 2018 No. 2
• National Electricity Amendment (Reliability Panel governance arrangements) Rule 2018 No. 6
