About the AEMC

It facilitates rule changes, carries out reviews and advises the nation’s Energy Ministers on the design of regulatory and energy market arrangements.

The AEMC is developing the right market settings to improve Australia's future productivity and living standards by contributing to a decarbonising, affordable and reliable energy system for consumers, through the transition and beyond.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Administrator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in improving our use of ClickUp, driving better user experience and supporting project administration and delivery.

You're a confident self-starter who thrives on getting things done, comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, yet still happy to be hands-on and close to the work.

You’ll bring experience in organisational process management or improvement—whether from consulting, business analysis, digital transformation, or a similar role. You're someone who can think critically, simplify complexity, and drive real outcomes.

Strong with IT concepts and tools, you understand how systems like APIs work and can translate technical ideas into practical process guidance. You’re able to assess problems, weigh up options, and help shape solutions that are both technically feasible and a good fit for the organisation.

You’ll need enough professional experience to take direction well, but also work independently when needed, managing your time, priorities and outputs confidently.

About you:

We are looking for a project administrator who ideally will have:

  • 5+ years project administration/management experience
  • Confidence working in a regulatory or compliance-driven organisation
  • Experience with ClickUp or similar API tools would be a bonus
  • A solutions mindset and the ability to simplify complex challenges
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently to resolve issues. We anticipate that a major part of their role will be to listen, understand and work with stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues related to our project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach and commitment to delivering outcomes

Benefits

  • Flexible working – balance your work and life in a supportive culture
  • Central location – close to public transport, shops, and cafes
  • Positive work environment - we value all perspectives, encourage open collaboration, no matter the task.

If you’re a collaborative problem-solver who’s ready to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to being an inclusive, diverse, flexible and supportive workplace where differences are valued and where all our people can thrive.

We invite candidates of all gender expressions, ages, ethnicities, and other culturally diverse groups to apply.

Applicants must have permanent working rights in Australia (either permanent residency or Australian citizenship).
