On Tuesday 18 April, from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm (AEST) the AEMC will host an in-person public forum on the Electricity Network Regulation Review (ENRR). An online option will also be made available. 

The event will take place at the Swissôtel Sydney, 68 Market Street Sydney, with opening remarks commencing at 9.30 am. Further details will be made available for registered attendees.  

The Electricity Network Regulation Review is considering the important role of electricity network regulation in providing consumers with a low cost, reliable supply of electricity as the NEM transitions to a net-zero system.

During the forum, the AEMC will present the content of the consultation papers for Package 1 and Package 2 of the review, focusing on the issues and problem statements under each package, with the aim to gain input from stakeholders to help shape policy development.  

The forum will include presentations, Q&A sessions and facilitated roundtable discussions. A virtual attendance option will be available for stakeholders who are unable to attend in person. (Please note: online participants will be able to join the presentation sessions but will be unable to participate in roundtable discussions).

There will be two sessions on the day:

• Discussion about Package 1 will take place from 9.30 am- 12.30 pm. This package examines what services should be regulated and, as such, how costs should be allocated to different electricity end-users. The consultation paper was published on 25 June.  
   
• Discussion about Package 2 will take place from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm. This package examines how the framework can support efficient operations and expenditure. A consultation paper is expected to be published in mid-August.
