The ACT distribution system is owned and operated by Evoenergy, formerly known as ActewAGL Distribution. This is a partnership between the ACT Government-owned Icon Water Limited (an Actew Corporation) and Jemena Networks (ACT) Pty Ltd. The network covers Queanbeyan, Pelerang, Jerrabomberra, Bungendore, as well as the ACT. It consists of approximately 4 720km of pipeline, delivering approximately 8.2 PJ per year to 124 000 customers. Gas is transported to the ACT distribution system from the Cooper Basin in SA through the Moomba to Sydney Pipeline and from Longford (Victoria) through the Eastern Gas Pipeline.
The ACT distribution system was initially subject to regulation as a covered pipeline under the Gas Code by the ICRC. It is now subject to full regulation by the AER under the NGR.
