The ACT distribution system is owned and operated by ActewAGL Distribution, a partnership between Actew Distribution Ltd and Jemena Networks (ACT) Pty Ltd. The network covers Queanbeyan and Pelerang as well as the ACT. It consists of approximately 4 000km of pipeline, delivering approximately 7.5 PJ per year. Gas is transported to the ACT distribution system from the Cooper Basin in SA through the Moomba to Sydney Pipeline and from Longford (Victoria) through the Eastern Gas Pipeline.
The ACT distribution system was initially subject to regulation as a covered pipeline under the Gas Code by the ICRC. It is now subject to full regulation by the AER under the NGR.
