Memoranda of Understanding
AEMC-AER-ACCC Memorandum of Understanding
The AEMA, the AEMC Establishment Act and the Second Reading Speech introducing the new National Electricity Law into the South Australian Parliament foreshadow a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the AEMC, the AER and the ACCC, given the role these respective agencies play in Australian energy markets.
This MOU sets out the arrangements agreed between the AEMC, the AER and the ACCC to promote effective cooperation, communication and co-ordination between the three agencies in the performance of their different but complementary roles in Australia’s energy markets. The MOU is a public document and aims to transparently communicate to all energy market stakeholders the principles that guide the three agencies as they carry out their respective roles.
AEMC-NEMMCO Memorandum of Understanding
A Memorandum of Understanding between the AEMC and NEMMCO was made on 16 May 2007 to enhance the effectiveness of both agencies and promote the efficient operation of the NEM. A copy of this memorandum may be found below.
AEMC-NCC Memorandum of Understanding
The AEMC and the National Competition Council (NCC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. The MOU dated 1 June 2007 which has been endorsed by the Ministerial Council on Energy, aims to promote effective communication, cooperation and co-ordination between the agencies in the performance of their respective role in the Australian energy markets.
