Established in 2005, the AEMC provides policy advice to governments and is the Rule maker for the electricity and gas sectors. The AEMC plays a central part in promoting efficient and competitive energy markets and as we look forward, the importance of the energy sector to the national economy will continue to require the AEMC to have the very best minds and expertise available to it.
The AEMC staff comprises a broad-based team of professionals including economists, engineers, lawyers, regulatory/policy advisers and other electricity market and gas sector professionals in shaping and developing the regulatory environment in which electricity and gas market participants operate.
