In accordance with clause 8.8.3(k) of the National Electricity Rules (Rules), on 18 December 2009, the AEMC published the final report for the Annual Market Performance Review 2009. The final report was submitted by the Reliability Panel (Panel) to the AEMC in accordance with clause 8.8.3(j).
Background
On 2 September 2009, the Panel gave notice that it has commenced its annual review of the performance of the National Electricity Market for the 2008-09 year.
The review focuses on the performance of the market in terms of reliability of the power system and the power system security and reliability standards. In conducting this review the Panel is following established practice of annual reviews under clause 8.8.3 of the Rules.
The Panel presented its statement of approach for completion of this review at the Australian Energy Market Forum on Thursday 29 October 2009.
Furthermore, on 18 November 2009, the Panel published its draft report on its annual review of the performance of the National Electricity Market for the 2008-09 fiscal year. Submissions on the draft report closed on 4 December 2009, with the Panel receiving one submission from the Electricity Market Research Institute.
