Establishment of ECA
In December 2013, the COAG Energy Council agreed to establish a new national energy consumer advocacy body – Energy Consumers Australia (ECA). On 30 January 2015, ECA assumed the consumer advocacy grant functions of the Consumer Advocacy Panel (CAP) and CAP ceased operations.
The ECA focuses on national energy market matters of strategic importance for energy consumers and aims to promote the long term interests of consumers of energy with respect to the price, quality, safety, reliability and security of supply of energy services. The organisation’s constitution is available here.
As a result of CAP ceasing operations, this webpage is no longer being updated.
Responsibility for CAP grants will be transferred to ECA.
